Pembahasan Soal Bahasa Inggris Chapter 4 Halaman 65 Kelas 10 (Writing)

Saifullah.id - Soal yang kita bahas sekarang berasal dari buku bahasa Inggris kelas X (sepuluh) tingkat SMA / SMK / MA / MAK masuk pembahasan Chapter 4 Hal 64 bagian Writing. Seperti biasa saya akan menjelaskan perintah soal dan cara mengerjakannya.

Task 1: Editing - Pair Work

Latihan 1: Mengubah/Memperbaiki - Tugas bersama teman sebangku 

    Read the following description about a tourist destination carefully. The writer forgot to edit her draft. Can you find the errors in the text and help her edit the text?

    For example, read carefully the fifth sentence in the following text. Can you find the errors in the sentence? Yes, waterfal and a bowl giant. The first error should be written waterfall because it was misspelled, and a bowl giant should be written giant bowl (remember how to make noun phrase). Now try to find the other errors and try to correct them.

    Bacalah uraian tentang suatu destinasi wisata berikut ini dengan cermat. Penulis lupa mengedit drafnya. Bisakah Anda menemukan kesalahan dalam teks dan membantunya mengedit teks? 

    Misalnya, bacalah dengan cermat kalimat kelima dalam teks berikut. Bisakah Anda menemukan kesalahan dalam kalimat? Ya, air dan mangkuk raksasa. Kesalahan pertama harus ditulis waterfall karena salah eja, dan mangkok raksasa harus ditulis mangkok raksasa (ingat cara membuat frasa kata benda). The greatness of the nature will make you feel very small and price God The second scenery to enjoy is the charm of the waterfall itself. From the top of the soaring rock, huge amount of water continuously falls down, splash on the large black stones at the bottom of the waterfall, and forms a shallow small lake and stream. The water in the lake and stream crystal clear and icy cold. The wind that blow the falling water and the splash produce millions of tiny droplets of water. The wind can blow your boat. The droplets covers the small lake and visitors in mist. Yes, you will get wet. But you can go to the mall. When the sunlight shine through the cold tiny droplets, you will see rainbows on the earth, not in the sky, that seems close enough to you the senery is breathtaking. End the trip with something that can warm you up. In the rest area, you can buy roasted sweet corns. If that is not enough, you can also buy drinks hot delicious and meatball soup hot. When you go home, leave nothing in the area but your footsteps and bring home only your memory unforgettabel about the beautiful Cuban Rondo Waterfall.

  PENJELASAN  

Di atas ada dua buah teks yang terdiri dari teks asli dari dalam buku, dan teks hasil revisian sesuai perintah soal pada tugas kita kali ini. Jadi pada teks asli saya sengaja memberikan tanda warna merah pada kata atau kalimat yang salah dan harus diperbaiki.
Sementara dibagian hasil revisi, saya kasih tanda kuning untuk menunjukkan bahwa kata atau kalimat tersebut merupakan hasil dari perbaikan yang kita lakukan. Tanda coret menandakan kalimat tersebut harus dihapus. Sedangkan tanda kurung itu penjelasan kenapa harus dicoret.
Untuk mempermudah kalian memahaminya, maka akan saya jelaskan satu persatu, mengapa kata yang di tandai warna merah itu salah.

1. waterfal ➜ waterfall
   Secara penulisan kata ini jelas salah, karena harusnya huruf "L" itu double (ada 2). Waterfall artinya air terjun.
   
   
2. Bowl Giant ➜ giant bowl
   Frase ini salah karena menggunakan huruf kapital dan posisinya terbalik. Ingat! adjective (kata sifat) harus berada sebelum noun (kata benda). Giant artinya besar / raksasa yang termasuk kata sifat ukuran (size)
   
   
3. God The ➜ God. The
   Kesalahannya terletak pada tanda baca. Maka harus di tambah titik dan dibuat menjadi paragraf baru.
   
   
4. splash ➜ splashes
   Kedudukan kata splash di sini sebagai verb (kata kerja). Karena subject nya adalah "huge amount of water yang termasuk uncountable noun (kata benda tak terhitung), lalu kata kerja pada kalimat sebelum dan sesudahnya menggunakan verb+s/es, yaitu kata "falls" dan "forms" maka splash harus ikut menggunakan kata kerja berakhiran "s" atau "es". Maka kita tambah akhiran "es" karena huruf akhir dari kata splash adalah "sh". Ingat pelajaran di bab yang lalu yang membahasan kapan pakai "s" dan kapan pakai "es".
   
   
5. blow ➜ blows
   Sama seperti nomor 4, kedudukan blow adalah sebagai verb (kata kerja). Kata kerja untuk subject tunggal atau tidak bisa dihitung harus menggunakan akhiran "s/es". Berhubung subject-nya di sini adalah The wind (angin). Angin termasuk uncountable noun. Maka harus ditambah akhiran s/es pada kata kerja blow. Karena blow berakhiran huruf "w", maka cukup kita tambah huruf "s" saja.
   
   
6. The wind can blow your boat ➜ dihapus
   Kata ini dihapus karena tidak relevan dengan teks. Di teks tidak ada membahas tentang boat (perahu)
   
   



7. But you can go to the mall ➜ dihapus
   Kata ini dihapus karena tidak relevan dengan teks. Di teks tidak ada membahas tentang mall (pusat belanja)
   
   
8. shine ➜ shines
   Karena sunlight merupakan subject uncountable noun (kata benda tak terhitung), maka verb (kata kerja) harus ditambah huruf s/es. Jadilah shines, cukup tambah "s" karena kata itu berakhiran dengan huruf "e".
   
   
9. you the ➜ you. The
   Kesalahannya pada tanda dan huruf kapital. Di akhir kata you harus ditambah titik karena itu akhir kalimat. Lalu setelah tanda titik harus menggunakan huruf kapital (besar).
   
   
10. drinks hot delicious ➜ hot delicious drinks
    Lagi-lagi kesalahannya pada posisi kata dalam frase. INGAT! noun (kata benda) harus berada setelah adjective (kata sifat). Drinks di sini artinya bukan "meminum", tapi artinya "minuman". Jadi harus diletakkan paling akhir. Kalau letak kata drinks di tengah nanti menjadi verb (kata kerja), sementara di kalimat itu sudah ada kata kerjanya, yaitu buy (membeli). Dilarang ada dua kata kerja berdekatan seperti itu.
    
    
11. meatball soup hot ➜ hot meatball soup
    Hampir sama dengan nomor 10. Kalau tadi peletakan noun (kata benda) yang salah. Kalau ini peletakan adjective (kata sifat) yang salah. Tapi rumusnya tetap sama, Adjective dulu baru Noun. Karena hot (panas) merupakan kata sifat opinion (pendapat), jadi kita letakkan sebelum meatball soup (bakso)
    
    
12. memory unforgettabel ➜ unforgettable memory
    Kesalahan posisi kata dan penulisan table. Unforgattable (tak terlupakan) adalah kata sifat opinion (pendapat), sementara memory adalah kata benda. INGAT! kata sifat dulu baru kata benda, jangan terbalik.
